6th Annual Radiothon Raises $75,000
K-99 (KRYS 99.1) teamed up with Driscoll Children’s Hospital to host the 6th Annual Radiothon. The early morning of February 14, 2008 marked the beginning of a three-day, 30-hour broadcast from the Half Pint Library in the Main Lobby of Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Patients, parents, physicians, and staff shared inspirational stories of hope and healing with the K-99 radio hosts; Big Frank, Kelly, Mark, Chris as well as the K-99 listening audience. The generous community called in pledges of $75,000 for specialized pediatric programs and equipment for Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Thanks to all community volunteers who staffed phone banks, and most importantly to all country music fans for partnering with Driscoll Children’s Hospital, helping to make a difference in the lives of many South Texas children.
