Description of Services:

Children's Surgical Services provides the highest quality care to infants, children, and adolescents who are born with -- or who develop --abnormalities of the neck, chest, lungs or airways, digestive tract or urinary system. Whether your child requires thoracic, general, or urologic surgical care, our goal is to provide state-of-the-art therapy using the least invasive approach possible. These laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, and endoscopic techniques have several advantages over traditional "open" operations: they can minimize your child's postoperative pain, shorten his/her hospital stay, and allow your child to return to school and to full activity much sooner. And the cosmetic and psychological benefits of this "minimally invasive surgery" are also very important.

Our multi-disciplinary team (including pediatricians, neonatologists, and pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists and nurses) is dedicated to the care and comfort of your child before, during, and after the operation. We understand the importance of working closely with the referring physician at every step, from initial visit through long-term follow-up.

We provide diagnosis and treatment for a broad spectrum of neck, chest, abdominal, and urinary problems, including:

We also care for children with injuries from trauma, and with assorted conditions such as vascular birthmarks, skin nevi (suspicious moles), ganglion cysts, and ingrown toenails.

We get to know some of our patients even before their parents do. Obstetrical ultrasounds often discover conditions in the fetus that will require surgery after birth. We offer prenatal counseling to expectant parents whose newborn child may -- or may not -- need surgery.

Children's Surgical Services provides complete pediatric surgical care that combines the most modern (and least invasive) techniques with a warm and compassionate approach to the well-being of your child. Whether your child needs a simple mole removed or requires a complex surgical procedure, you can be sure that your child's stay here will be as pleasant, painless, and as short as possible.
