(South Padre Island, TX) Driscoll Children’s Hospital Cancer patients are ending the summer in true South Texas style with a trip to Schlitterbahn in South Padre. This event is possible thanks to the generosity of Dos Logistics, Inc. who have contributed $10,000 to sponsor this event for our patients.

“Sponsoring this day is certainly our privilege and we are honored to join the efforts of Driscoll Children’s Hospital to empower families and the dedicated team of medical professionals who strive each day to preserve life and the innocence of childhood,” stated Eric Chin, President of Dos Logistics, Inc.

This day is a celebration of life and fun for our cancer patients. We have more than 400 patients and their family members signed up to enjoy the day and festivities of being away from the hospital and a day geared towards being a kid. The patients have been looking forward to this event for nearly a month and are planning their clinic visits and time at the hospital to prepare for this special day.

The children and their families come from the Rio Grande Valley and the Corpus Christi area. The day will be full of adventure and moments to share for a lifetime.

We are inviting you to meet and greet our patients and their families between 12pm and 2pm in the Main Palapa area of Schlitterbahn South Padre as the families enjoy some great food and some time to reflect and talk about their day dedicated towards everyone being a kid.

Since opening its doors in 1953, Driscoll Children’s Hospital has been offering hope and healing to the children of South Texas for half a century. The facility is a 189-bed pediatric tertiary care center with pediatric board-certified specialists representing 19 medical and nine surgical specialties. Each year, more than 6,000 children are admitted for inpatient care, 5,000 for day surgery, and 50,000 for outpatient primary and specialty care, as well as 40,000 for emergency care, as the first South Texas hospital with emergency services exclusively for children. Additionally, Driscoll maintains a state-of-the-art ground/air transport team, 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 40-bed neonatal intensive care unit, and specialized medical outreach.
