AS DRISCOLL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL’S AUXILIARY CELEBRATES ANOTHER
GROUP OF STUDENTS HEADING OFF TO COLLEGE
Students from throughout South Texas
will receive scholarships; including Clara Driscoll Spirit Scholarship,
James A. Duff “Have a Heart” Memorial Scholarship
and Marcia K. Wilcox memorial Scholarship

(Corpus Christi, TX) DCH Auxiliary invites the community
to join them as they celebrate the lives and success of local students.
The students being awarded scholarship have been an integral part of Driscoll
Children’s Hospital either as a patient or a volunteer or both.
So, on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:30 pm they will be celebrated for all there
hard work.
Clara Driscoll Spirit Scholarship is awarded to seniors who have worked
as a Volunteen for the volunteers of DCH Auxiliary. They will each receive
a $1000 scholarship for their volunteer work at Driscoll Children’s
Hospital. This year’s recipients include:
- Jill Bernhard
- Lutvina Montemayor
- Monzeratt Silgero
- Allison Fang
- Brittany Rioth
- Karthik Gurumurthy
- Biyanka Patel
- Ashish Shah
The Dr. James A. Duff “Have a Heart” Memorial Scholarships
go to Cardiology patients of Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Recipients
receive $1,000 scholarship per semester for four years. This year’s
scholarship recipients include:
- Krista Marie Vidaurri
- Hector A. Caballero
Each year DCH Auxiliary raises money from the sales of Patient Art Projects
including: Holiday Cards, T-Shirts and CD’s. The sale of these products
funds the Marci K. Wilcox Memorial Scholarship Fund that was set up to
provide scholarship for Driscoll Children’s Hospital Oncology patients.
Each year patients are chosen to receive $500 per semester for four years.
This year’s recipients include:

- Kyle Randall Bright
- Kelsie McCain
- Aleyda Molina
- Stephanie Lynn Pena

Since opening its doors in 1953, Driscoll Children’s Hospital
has been offering hope and healing to the children of South Texas for
half a century. The facility is a 189-bed pediatric tertiary care center
with pediatric board-certified specialists representing 19 medical and
nine surgical specialties. Each year, more than 6,000 children are admitted
for inpatient care, 5,000 for day surgery, and 50,000 for outpatient
primary and specialty care, as well as 40,000 for emergency care, as
the first South Texas hospital with emergency services exclusively for
children. Additionally, Driscoll maintains a state-of-the-art ground/air
transport team, 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 40-bed neonatal
intensive care unit, and specialized medical outreach.
