(Corpus Christi, TX) Local artist, Cornelia Morgan, continues to show her support for Driscoll Children’s Hospital by donating a two-sided quilt she made. The quilt blocks were part of a “round robin” activity sponsored by the Coastal Bend Quilt and Needlework Guild. The donated quilt will be raffled off by the Auxiliary to help raise funds for projects at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. As a school teacher for 23 years, Morgan has shown her love for the children of South Texas through her career and her contributions to the hospital. “Cornelia has been a great supporter of the Auxiliary and its mission for the children who come to Driscoll Children’s Hospital. She is a former teacher and has shown her support through her talents,” says Jan Cuellar, chairperson for the Quilt Contest. In 2006, Morgan donated her artwork to be used as one of the Holiday Card designs. Her poinsettia design was so popular that it was chosen to adorn holiday shirts and aprons; they quickly flew off the shelves. Raffle tickets for Morgan’s quilt can be purchased for $1.00 in the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Gift Shop; the drawing will take place on July 4, 2008.
