TEAMING UP FOR SAFETY

Driscoll Children's Hospital & Corpus Christi Fire Department

(Corpus Christi, TX) One of the greatest ventures to happen at Driscoll Children's Hospital is taking place June 8th-9th. Driscoll Children's Hospital and the Corpus Christi Fire Department Cadets are teaming up to make sure the children of South Texas are safe. It’s a chance for the city’s finest to meet the parents in their community and make a difference in the lives of many children.

22 Cadets along with Driscoll Children's Hospital Injury Prevention Department will be involved with car seat checks and will provide families with additional information to keep their children from harms way. On site, from 9am to 4pm both parents and children can see a fire truck, ambulance, the Fire Department Safety Trailer, and a rollover simulator. This is a great opportunity for children to learn more about the role of fire fighters and for parents to understand the importance of keeping our children properly buckled up.

The cadets on site are from the current CCFD Academy. This is part of their community service and they are also putting their skills to the test. They will also be doing blood pressure screenings for the parents.

Please come by Driscoll Children's Hospital to see the workings of the city’s newest fire fighters and the makings of a joint venture to keep children safe.
