(Corpus Christi, TX)  This two-day symposium is designed to provide pediatricians, family practitioners, internists, endocrinologists, resident physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with a comprehensive review of type 2 diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents.  Nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, exercise physiologists and social workers involved in the multi-disciplinary approach to care of diabetes will also directly benefit from attendance to this program.

The Diabesity Conference objectives will provide state of the art clinical information on the epidemic of type 2 diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents. It will improve understanding of current controversies in the early detection and prevention of type 2 diabetes in children. It will also increase the participant's knowledge of obesity prevention and management in children and adolescents through lectures, case studies, and Interactive Group Response System.

Driscoll Children's Hospital is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
