Services - Interlibrary Loan

Driscoll Children's Hospital employees & affiliated health care professionals may request journal articles or books not available at our library by filling out request forms in the library, e-mailing the librarian, calling the library, sending citations or lists to the library, or using Loansome Doc.  Please provide complete citation information for fastest service.  Interlibrary loan service is free.  

  • Journal articles available locally usually arrive within 1-3 weekdays.  Articles unavailable locally usually arrive within 4-7 weekdays.   Please call the library if you need rush service. 
  • Books borrowed from other libraries usually arrive within 2 weeks of the request.  We route book interlibrary loan requests to the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Bell Library Interlibrary Loan department.   Call our library for help, (361) 694-5467.

The library uses the National Library of Medicine's DOCLINE system to request articles from other libraries.  Free interlibrary loan service between local libraries is provided by the Coastal Bend Health Information Network; articles not available locally are ordered from Information Link, a commercial information provider.
