Driscoll celebrates Child Cancer Awareness Day

Oncology patients at Driscoll Children’s Hospital and their families gathered Sept. 23 at Bowlero to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, as declared by Mayor Joe McComb, who was present to read the proclamation.

“Every year we have a celebration with the oncology patients and their families,” said Cynthia McMinn, Clinical Coordinator for Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. “We get to honor them, celebrate with them, and most importantly, we want them to know they are not in this fight alone.”

The event also was in recognition of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the great strides made in pediatric cancer care.
