19th Annual Fiesta de los Niños to Benefit Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Services Department

CORPUS CHRISTI – A festive night of fun, food and music is on tap for those attending Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s 19th Annual Fiesta de los Niños. To be held Friday, Feb.4 at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall, the event is a tradition that many people look forward to every year because its aim is to help children in the community.

“Because of the support from community partners such as Flint Hills Resources, Driscoll Children’s Hospital is able to continue to enhance its services and carry on the vision to be the regional leader in children’s services through innovation and excellence in healthcare, advocacy, education and research,” said Martha St. Romain, vice president of Development at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

Led by long-time title sponsor, Flint Hills Resources, Fiesta de los Niños is a major annual fundraiser for Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Last year, more than $570,000 was raised for the renovation and expansion of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. This year’s proceeds will go toward the expansion and redesign of the hospital’s Emergency Services Department to enhance overall patient care and provide a state-of-the-art department to care for the children of our community. The proposed expansion will include two trauma rooms, 13 private exam rooms, six private, fast-track rooms, two triage areas with ideal visibility to the waiting room, an expanded central nursing station and a new ambulance vestibule and weather protection canopy.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, silent and bidboard auctions and live music by Still Crazy. The live auction is at 8:30 p.m. and includes packages such as a Dallas Cowboys game, lodging at the Victoria House in Ambergris Caye, Belize, a deer hunt, a deep-sea fishing trip, a San Antonio Spurs game and a Napa Valley trip complete with wine tour and tasting. Rounding out the evening will be music by renowned country singer John Conlee.
