CORPUS CHRISTI – On Friday, Jan.26, Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s 26th annual Fiesta de los Niños will bring its signature combination of fun, food and music to the American Bank Center. The event’s mission remains the same as it did in the beginning – to help Driscoll offer more and enhanced services to the children of South Texas.
“Because of the support from community partners such as Flint Hills Resources, Driscoll Children’s Hospital is able to continue to enhance its services and carry on the vision of founder Clara Driscoll to be the regional leader in children’s services through innovation and excellence in healthcare, advocacy, education and research,” said Martha Avery, Vice President of Development at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Led by longtime title sponsor Flint Hills Resources, Fiesta de los Niños is Driscoll’s largest annual fundraising event. Each year, 100 percent of the funds raised from the event directly benefit the hospital. In 2017, with more than 1,500 people in attendance, Fiesta raised more than $1,023,000 net.
Funds from the 2018 Fiesta de los Niños will help with the successful completion of the new North Pavilion that will house both a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and new Outpatient Surgery Center, adding much-needed child-friendly and efficient space to fulfill Driscoll’s mission of offering hope and healing in an environment of trust, compassion and care for the children of South Texas.
Guests at Fiesta de los Niños will enjoy silent, live and bidboard auctions, a barbecue dinner and entertainment by country music artist and Corpus Christi native Roger Creager. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, silent and bidboard auctions and live music by Still Crazy.
