Driscoll celebrates World Kidney Day

Driscoll Children’s Hospital celebrated World Kidney Day with its Dialysis and Nephrology patients, reminding them how important it is to focus on kidney health issues.

World Kidney Day T-shirts were handed out to staff and patients all week, and the department had a photo booth and cupcakes for the pediatric patients to enjoy.

Founded in 2006, World Kidney Day is a global health awareness campaign focusing on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. Observed annually on the second Thursday in March, the event is a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations.
