VFW contributes to Christmas in July Toy Drive

Veterans in the Rio Grande Valley are doing their part to bring joy to the children at Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville.

Representatives from various Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts recently presented a $2,000 check for the annual Christmas in July Toy Drive, a fundraising event that ensures all Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville patients who receive treatment during the holiday season will have a toy to take home with them. This year’s event is July 13.

“With sincere gratitude, we appreciate the VFW’s devoted interest and compassion for the children of Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville,” said Suzy Spencer, Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center Auxiliary Volunteer Chairman.

The Volunteer Auxiliary is accepting donations of new unwrapped toys, auction items, gift cards and cash or check donations. Checks should be made out to Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center Auxiliary. Contact Suzy Spencer, Auxiliary Chairman, 614-270-4471, or Nora Garcia, volunteer, 956-455-4038, for more information.
