Cuidado postoperatorio dura desde el momento en que su niño(a) entra en la sala de recuperación hasta su dada de alta del hospital. La duración de esta fase depende del tipo de cirugía y la condición médica de su niño(a). La mayoría de los niños con procedimientos quirúrgicos menores pueden ser dados de alta en el mismo día del procedimiento. Intervenciones quirúrgicas mayores requieren más tiempo de recuperación y, quizás, una estadía en cuidados intensivos.

Durante este tiempo, será útil familiarizarse con las molestias normales que el niño(a) puede experimentar después de la cirugía y las medidas habituales para ayudar a controlar el dolor después de la cirugía. En la sección "Más Información" encontrará información útil para el cuidado de su niño(a) después de la cirugía.
