** During the Behavioral/Adolescent Pediatrics residents are required to participate in Project DOCC (Delivery of Chronic Care). The resident will be exposed to a family and child with a chronic illness and experience life from a patient and patient's family point of view. They will interview the parent and discuss how the patient/family was introduced to their child's diagnosis and discuss how the family would like to have the physician work with them on the care of their child. The resident will take a pre- and post-Project DOCC Behavioral Assessment and will also evaluate the program. In turn, the parents will also be evaluating the resident on his/her skills as a care giver. This will assist the resident on his/her ability to communicate effectively with their future patients and their families.
