What is IT?


Camp Easy Breathers is a summer camp for children with asthma. It is designed to provide physical and social experiences that are fun while increasing the child's understanding of his/her asthma. The children will be guided to manage their asthma so that they can fully enjoy all camp activities. This experience is designed to give the children a better understanding of asthma that will benefit them even after camp is over.

When is IT?


June 17-21, 2013
Drop-off will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013. A parent education session and a camp celebration is held the last day of camp. More information will be available when child is registered.

Dismissal will be after the parent education session on Friday, June 17, 2013. Parents must attend registration and education sessions. *NO EXCEPTIONS*

All campers must have their own transportation to and from camp.

Who is eligible?


Requirements for campers are:
  • ages - 7 to 14
  • persistent asthma and no other limiting physical conditions
  • have had emergency visits to their doctors and/or an emergency department
  • children who could benefit from an asthma education program
  • take controller medications, such as inhaled steroids

Where will it be held?


Camp Easy Breathers will be held at Camp Aranzazu, 5420 FM 1781, Rockport, Texas 78382, six miles from downtown Rockport.

How can my child attend?


Campers are encouraged to submit their applications early due to limited space. Eligibility for selection to attend Camp Easy Breathers depends upon completion of all forms, releases and other requirements explained in the application packet.

What is the cost?


The cost of the camp is $300. This includes all meals, snacks and activities. Limited space and scholarships are available.

About Camp Aranzazu


Camp Aranzazu (pronounced Ah-ran-zah-zoo) is a not-for-profit, year-round camp facility specially designed to serve the needs of people with chronic illnesses or disabilities. The barrier-free facility features paved walkways, specialized equipment to enable maximum participation in water sports and other physical activities, as well as a medical facility for campers requiring daily medications.
