Loansome Doc

DCH employees & affiliated health care professionals may use the National Library of Medicine's Loansome Doc service to request copies of articles from the library. This service is free to authorized users.

AUTHORIZATION: Contact the library to obtain authorization and our LIBID (library ID).

REGISTRATION & INFORMATION: See the Loansome Doc Ordering System for more information, to register as a new user, to change your ordering library, or to check the status of your orders.

PROCEDURES: Use the NLM's PubMed (Medline) database to search for articles. Mark your selections, and then click on "order" or "order documents." Your request will be routed to the DCH library. We will fill your request, or transfer the request to other libraries if we do not own the article.

DELIVERY OPTIONS: Articles can be delivered to your home or to the library. You can request delivery by mail, fax or pickup. Our library does not provide e-mail or Internet delivery.

RUSH REQUESTS: When requesting articles from out-of-town libraries, we request fax delivery only for clinical emergencies. However, our library and other local libraries fax routinely. Use the "comments" field for any special instructions or questions. If you need an article for a clinical emergency, please call the library for fastest service.

OTHER INTERLIBRARY LOAN OPTIONS: As always, you may also request articles or books by calling, e-mailing, sending a list, or coming by the library. See the Interlibrary Loan policies for more information.
