Dr. Booth named to Texas Medical Board Review Committee

Driscoll Children’s Hospital Child Abuse Pediatrician Ada Booth, MD, is one of six Texans appointed to the Texas Medical Board District Four Review Committee by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Dr. Booth, of Corpus Christi, is a member of the Child Abuse Resource & Evaluation (CARE) Team at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Her board term will expire Jan. 15, 2022.

She is a member of the Texas Pediatric Society, Nueces County Medical Society, Corpus Christi Pediatric Society, Coastal Bend Child Fatality Review Team, and the Ray E. Helfer Society. Dr. Booth received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies: Pediatric Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

The board’s four District Review Committees evaluate medical practice and professional competency, and make recommendations on investigations conducted by the Texas Medical Board. Districts are comprised of counties in four geographic regions of the state. 

Each committee consists of six or seven members: three physician members who are doctors of medicine (MD), one physician member who is a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) and three public members.
