Driscoll, K99 team for 14th annual Radiothon

Driscoll Children’s Hospital neurologist Carol DeLine, MD, answers questions on K-99 during the hospital’s annual Radiothon. This year’s Radiothon is March 4.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital will team with K99 (KRYS 99.1 FM) on Friday, March 4, for the 14th annual K99 Radiothon.

The one-day event will be broadcast live from the Jim Duff Guest Quarters, Room 123, on the first floor of the Sloan Building at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. The Radiothon will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Listeners can tune in to hear patients, parents, physicians and staff share inspirational stories of hope and healing. K99 radio personalities Big Frank and CoCo will be on hand to conduct interviews throughout the day.

The donation pledge number for the day is (361) 694-6400.

Since its inception, K99 listeners have helped raise $762,625 to benefit the patients and services provided at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. In 2015, $69,739.88 was raised. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go to serve all the children of South Texas.

“The annual Radiothon really brings out the best in people,” said Martha Avery, vice president of Development at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. “We appreciate the generosity of the K99 listeners. Driscoll Children’s Hospital has touched so many lives, and fundraisers like the Radiothon help us remain at the forefront of quality pediatric care in South Texas.”
