Celebrate Christmas in July at Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville by donating toys for patients. The Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville will hold its 11th annual Christmas in July Toy Drive on Thursday, July 13, 5-8 p.m., at the Specialty Center.
The free family event will be a night of fun activities for children; for the adults, there will be raffles, a “buy now” store and a live auction. Christmas in July is the primary fundraiser for the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Specialty Center – Brownsville.
“This is always such an amazing event, especially to see the Driscoll volunteers and the Brownsville community come together by donating toys in order to make certain our patients have an extra-special Christmas,” said Lizette Saenz, director of Volunteer Services for Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Stop by the Specialty Center, 5500 N. Expressway 77/83, and drop off an unwrapped toy to help ensure all patients who receive treatment this coming holiday season will have a toy to take home with them. Sponsors are requesting no toy guns be donated. Santa Claus will be at the event to receive the toys.
The Auxiliary will accept donations of new unwrapped toys, auction items, gift cards and cash or check donations. Checks should be made out to Auxiliary to Driscoll Specialty Center. Contact Suzy Spencer, Auxiliary chairperson, 614-270-4471, or Nora Garcia, volunteer, 956-455-4038, for more information.
