Mary Huckabee, MD, has been selected as the new Director of Medical Education, overseeing Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s pediatric residency program, medical student teaching and all other graduate medical education. She will begin her additional role March 1.
Dr. Huckabee, a native of Corpus Christi, returned to lead the Hospitalist program at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in 2018. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and her Pediatric training at the University of Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
She serves on multiple hospital committees focused on quality. Dr. Huckabee has taken a broad interest in medical education and has promoted the use of Driscoll’s simulation lab in the training and certification of students, residents and faculty. She was the recipient of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Faculty Award, Class of 2020.
Her new job also has roles in the management/direction of Medical Student Education, the Medical Library and the Institutional Review Board.
