Teddy Bear Hospital a chance for patients to be physicians

Patients were the physicians during a Sept. 10 Teddy Bear Hospital organized by the Stripes Child Life Program at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. The event allowed children to become more familiar with the medical procedures and equipment involved in their treatment. Driscoll patients chose their teddy bear, gave it a name and, with the help of Child Life Specialists and other Driscoll staff, measured its height and weight, placed an IV and drew lab work, gave it an X-ray, attached an anesthesia mask for surgery, and put an arm or leg in a cast.
