If you are at Driscoll Children’s Hospital on Thursday or Sunday afternoons, you may have come upon one of our Pet Partners teams visiting our patients and their families.
Who We Are
Pet Partners, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer human services organization dedicated to improving people’s health and well-being through positive interactions with animals.
What We Do
Local Pet Partners members provide animal-assisted activities at Driscoll and other area hospitals, rehabilitation centers and assisted living centers. Pet Partners also provides a dog-assisted children’s reading motivation program, “Tails for Tales,” at local schools.
Pet Partners, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, is the leader in promoting and demonstrating that positive human-animal interactions improve the physical, emotional and psychological lives of those it serves. Pet Partners provides “gold standard” therapy animal curriculum and training and inspires people to volunteer with their pets in their local communities.
Every Pet Partners dog that visits Driscoll has been temperament tested, and both dog and handler have passed the Pet Partners registration program. So, it’s a well-trained, registered Pet Partner team of dogs and handlers that you will see in action at Driscoll. All Pet Partners handlers visiting Driscoll Children’s Hospital are also members of the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
