Fiesta de los Niños Check Presentation

On Wednesday, March 9, longtime title sponsor Flint Hills Resources representatives presented Driscoll Children’s Hospital an $80,000 check for the upcoming 30th annual Fiesta de los Niños.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s annual Fiesta de los Niños will bring its signature combination of fun, food and music to the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall on Saturday, March 26. Fiesta de los Niños is celebrating its 30th year of giving corporations, individuals and the whole community a chance to join in the effort to provide better and more healthcare for the children of South Texas.

“Words alone cannot adequately express our sincere gratitude for our volunteers and many sponsors for making Fiesta the ongoing success that it is. Celebrating 30 years is a significant milestone, and we are proud to say that our host sponsor, Flint Hills, has been our partner during this entire journey,” said Sean Pieri, Vice President of Development at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. “Not only does 2022 mark the 30th anniversary of Fiesta, it also marks the event approaching $14,000,000 in support of Driscoll – supporting literally every corner of the Hospital and impacting every one of our patients annually.”

Fiesta de los Niños is Driscoll’s largest annual fundraising event. Each year, 100 percent of the net proceeds raised from the event directly benefit the hospital.

In 2021, the 29th annual Fiesta de los Niños grossed more than $505,000 for the Heart Center at Driscoll Children’s Hospital and Driscoll’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Proceeds from the 2022 Fiesta de los Niños will support the purchase of equipment for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

These units provide the most sophisticated medical and surgical care for pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. This care includes the entire spectrum of critical medical disorders. Board-certified intensive care physicians are in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The purchase of additional technology, such as a mobile CT scanner, will provide better care for Driscoll patients when and where it is needed most.

Guests at Fiesta de los Niños will enjoy the Live Auction, Silent/Bid Board Auctions, dinner, and entertainment by country music artist John Michael Montgomery.
